About Phyllis Whitaker
I was born & raised in rural Hancock County, Illinois, – Graduated from Carthage High School. After graduation I worked in Washington, DC, for a year. Since then, I have worked for Title III, ESEA,(two different times), worked for Hopper’s Drive Inn in Lake Charles, Louisiana, worked for Gulf American in Cape Coral, Florida, and then was employed by Ameren/CIPS as a cashier for 3 years before bidding for a position as meter reader/groundman. The meter reader/groundman position lasted for 31 years until I decided to retire. My husband, Bill, retired from Fort Madison Correctional Facility after 28 years of service. Prior to that he was employed as a carpenter.
I have always been interested in finding the potential in property. After retirement from Ameren/CIPS my husband and I decided to try our hand at “flipping” homes. The work is hard and sometimes more rewarding financially than others, but, always rewarding when you can provide a safe, comfortable home for someone.
The decision to become a Realtor® has presented challenges as well. My goal, and the goal of our office, is to provide the best service we can. Sometimes the best service doesn’t result in a sale or a purchase, but, personal relationships are built along the way.
I look forward to assisting in the purchase or selling of your home.
